چکیده

A freely available collection of Head-Related Impulse Response (HRIR) measurements is introduced. The impulse responses were acquired in an anechoic chamber using a KEMAR manikin at four different loudspeaker distances – 3m, 2m, 1m and 0.5m – reaching from the far field to the near field. The loudspeaker was positioned at ear height and the manikin was rotated with a high-precision stepper motor in one degree increments. Besides the raw HRIRs also datasets are available which have been compensated for the use with specific headphone models.

Improved Method for Individualization of Head-Related Transfer Functions on Horizontal Plane Using Reduced Number of Anthropometric Measurements

An important problem to be solved in modeling head-related impulse responses (HRIRs) is how to individualize HRIRs so that they are suitable for a listener. We modeled the entire magnitude head-related transfer functions (HRTFs), in frequency domain, for sound sources on horizontal plane of 37 subjects using principal components analysis (PCA). The individual magnitude HRTFs could be modeled ad...

Horizontal Eye Position Affects Measured Vertical VOR Gain on the Video Head Impulse Test

BACKGROUND/HYPOTHESIS With the video head impulse test (vHIT), the vertical VOR gain is defined as (vertical eye velocity/vertical head velocity), but compensatory eye movements to vertical canal stimulation usually have a torsional component. To minimize the contribution of torsion to the eye movement measurement, the horizontal gaze direction should be directed 40° from straight ahead so it i...

Postnatal development of spatial coding in the gravity sensing system

The critical maturation time of central otolith neurons in processing spatial orientations was examined in Sprague-Dawley rats. With the use of immuno-hybridization histochemical methods, we observed c-fos expression in vestibular nuclear neurons responding to transverse movement on the horizontal plane as early as P7 and those to antero-posterior stimulation as early as P9. In the inferior oli...

Effect of Head Misalignment in Horizontal & Vertical Dimensions on the Magnification Rate of Digital Panoramic Radiography in Different Parts of the Jaws

Background and aim: Considering the widespread development of implants in dental treatment plans, linear measurements on panoramic radiography are of especial importance. In the present study we investigated the effect of head misalignment up to 15° around vertical and horizontal axes on the magnification rate of digital panoramic radiography in each part of upper and lower jaws. Materia...
